A whole landscape, three and a half inches across. Snow on the peaks. A blue river winding down through the valley. Pine forest stacked in three shades of green - dark in the foreground, lighter behind - and an orange sun sitting low against a pink sky. It is a complete scene rather than a mountain silhouette, and the layering is what gives it depth. The rim is bound with a dense border stitch, which matters more on a patch that lives on outdoor gear. Unbound edges fray when they are dragged through a pack strap or shoved into a car boot. This one holds. The heat-activated backing bonds to cotton, canvas and denim with a full five minutes of firm, steady heat.
