- Stitch files don't store thread colors (DST) or store only palette hints (PES) — preview colors are for separating color blocks, not thread matching.

Is my design file uploaded anywhere?+
No. The .DST file is decoded entirely inside your browser. For a commercial design that matters — your file never touches our servers.
Why doesn't the preview show my thread colors?+
The DST format physically cannot store thread colors — it records only needle movements and color-change stops. The machine operator assigns real threads at sew-out. Our preview gives each color block a distinct display color so you can see the separation.
What does the stitch count tell me?+
Stitch count drives embroidery pricing and run time. Most left-chest logos run 4,000–10,000 stitches; jacket backs can exceed 30,000. This viewer reads the true count from the stitch data, including jumps and trims.
Can I edit or resize the DST here?+
No — and be careful with tools that claim to. DST files scale poorly because stitch densities don't adjust automatically. Resizing more than ~10% usually needs re-digitizing from the original artwork.
