Two words, red on white, and a straight face. LIMITED EDITION in bold red slab serif on white twill, bordered in red. It is a retro type treatment - the sort of thing stamped on a crate or a collector's box - and it works because it is played entirely deadpan. At 3 by 1.3 inches it is a small strip, and that is deliberate. It fits a cap panel, a jean pocket, a jacket cuff or a bag strap, in the spots where a big square patch would shout. The lettering is dense satin stitch on woven twill. The heat-activated backing bonds to cotton, denim and canvas with five full minutes of firm heat - the single most common reason an iron-on fails is that people give it thirty seconds.
