Mockups can help compare placement before a finished sample is available.
Put it into practice
Place the same artwork on two suitable mockups and check scale consistently. Label previews clearly and replace key listing images with photographs of the actual sample when available.
Keep a useful record
Write down the product or page you reviewed, the change you chose, and how you will check its effect. For a decorated product, keep the blank, customization method, delivery promise and customer expectations together in the same brief. Use your own product details and evidence when making decisions; an example from another shop is a starting point for comparison.
