What DPI is good enough for printing?+
300 DPI is the professional standard for items viewed up close (business cards, brochures, apparel transfers). 150 DPI is fine for posters and banners viewed from a distance. Below 100 DPI, softness becomes obvious.
Can I just change the DPI number to 300?+
Changing the DPI label doesn't add pixels — it only changes the default print size. To genuinely print larger you need more pixels (a bigger source image) or vector artwork, which has no resolution limit at all.
