Keep a useful record

Keep a small sample beside your notes. Record the fabric, thread, colors and order of work so you can repeat the parts you like. Photograph the piece close up and from normal viewing distance. This resource concerns hand embroidery or textile art; translating the appearance into a computerized machine design requires separate digitizing decisions.
