An idea of movement
Vehicle motifs invite attention to direction, proportion and recognisable details. A strong outer shape helps the subject read quickly; smaller elements reward a closer look. Consider how the direction of the motif would guide the eye across a finished project.

A cattleman crown, a curled brim, and a lot of stitching. This is a cowboy hat rendered in thread - weathered brown and grey, with a banded base and a brim that curls the way a worn hat actually curls. The crosshatch stitching across the crown and brim is the detail that carries it: it mimics felt grain, and without it the whole thing would read as a flat brown shape. At 3.25 inches it is proportioned for a trucker cap front panel, which is where most hat patches end up. It works equally well on a denim jacket, a tote or a back pocket. The heat-activated backing bonds to cotton, denim and canvas with a full five minutes of firm, steady heat. On a cap you wear every day, stitch the border - it takes two minutes and it settles the question permanently. Understated rather than costumey. It reads as western, not as fancy dress. Made by digitemb, who make embroidered patches and nothing else.
- A CLASSIC CATTLEMAN COWBOY HAT, EMBROIDERED - Curled brim, creased crown, banded base - stitched in weathered brown and grey thread with visible texture across the felt.
- HAT PATCHES FOR TRUCKER CAPS AND DENIM - 3.25 inches: sized to sit square on a trucker cap front panel, which is where most of these end up and what it was proportioned for.
- THE TEXTURE IS THE DESIGN - The crosshatch stitching across the crown and brim mimics felt grain. It is the detail that stops this looking like a flat brown shape.
- IRON ON IN FIVE MINUTES, SEW FOR A CAP YOU LIVE IN - Heat-activated backing bonds firmly to cotton, denim and canvas. For a cap in daily rotation, run a stitch around the border.
- WESTERN PATCHES FOR CAPS, JACKETS, TOTES AND JEANS - Understated, weathered and not costumey - it reads as authentic western rather than fancy dress.
